In March, Prabhu Deva announced that he was remaking Telugu blockbuster Dookudu of Mahesh Babu with Ajay Devgn but Ajay demands fresh script after the result of Himmatwala. After that, Prabhu Deva adopted fresh script for Ajay and titled it as Action Jackson. Later, in May, 2013, official announcement of the full cast was out and they revealed that Ajay, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and a South film star would be the cast. In July 2013, Jacqueline Fernandez had opted out of the film due to date clashes with her other film Kick, She was then later replaced by Sonakshi Sinha Later Manasvi Mamgai , Sonu Sood and Kunaal Roy Kapur were added to the cast. Dance will be choreographed by Vishnu Deva and action coordination will be done by Ravi Varma. First time Ajay is working with Prabhu Deva. The movie has high octaine action sequences. Music will be composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
