On December 7, 2012, it was announced that Warner Bros. is in talks to acquire the comedy film Get Hard, script written by Ian Roberts & Jay Martel, while Adam McKay & Will Ferrell's Gary Sanchez Productions will produce the film. On September 17, 2013 Etan Cohen was set to direct the film. On February 24, 2014, Warner Bros has set the film for a March 27, 2015 release. Tim Suhrstedt is the director of photography
On December 7, 2012 Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart were attached to star in the comedy film. On February 26, 2014 Craig T. Nelson has joined the film to play Martin Barrow, the founder of Barrow Funds, Ferrell's character's boss and also the father of Ferrell's character's fiancee. On March 17, 2014 Alison Brie has signed on to star in the film, she will play fiancee of Ferrell's character. On March 21, 2014 Edwina Findley has joined the cast of the film to play Rita Hudson, mother, nurse, and wife to Hart's character.
